With the spring fishing season opening on April 25, 2026, the GRCA wanted to share some updates for anglers.
Fishing can occur on the east side of the Ganaraska River, within the Ganaraska Millennium Conservation Area (CA), as well as Sylvan Glen CA, while being mindful of property lines. Thurne Parks CA will also be available to anglers, though Port Hope CA remains closed due to Highway 401 expansion work.
Please remember to follow all fishing regulations (FMZ-17) and property signage while fishing. Conservation Officers, local police and GRCA Provincial Offences Officers will be patrolling Conservation Areas during the fishing season.
Important reminders:
- All garbage, recycling and fish remains should be taken with you.
- Camping, RVs / trailers and overnight stays are not permitted on GRCA properties.
- Alcohol and cannabis products are prohibited on GRCA property.
- Open fires, BBQs and fireworks or sources of flame are also prohibited on GRCA properties.
