Demolition has been completed, as of Dec. 13th, 2024. The Central Forest Trailhead and GFC grounds are now open to the public again.
On December 9th to 12th, 2024, the gymnasium building on the Ganaraska Forest Centre (GFC) grounds, located in the Central Ganaraska Forest, will be demolished as it has reached the end of its life.
For the public’s safety, access to the Central Forest Trailhead and GFC grounds will be closed to the public during this operation. The location of the gymnasium requires heavy machinery and trucks to operate near the main entrance of this property, presenting a hazard to visitors and their vehicles.
The GRCA would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding so this demolition can be completed in a timely manner.
