Current fire bans for the region, including all municipalities within Northumberland County, the City of Kawartha Lakes,  Municipality of Clarington, and Township of Cavan Monaghan, among others, are in place to help prevent wildfires from starting. There are currently no wildfires in the immediate vicinity of the Ganaraska Forest, though there are several burning in neighbouring jurisdictions.
